Ryan Heffington’s Sweat Fest is Body Life

If you’re struggling to find opportunities to celebrate Body Life during self-isolation, a truly unique experience is just a few taps away on Instagram. Dancer and two-time Grammy-nominated choreographer Ryan Heffington is leading virtual dance classes from his home in Los Angeles where he’s teaching viewers to dance just like the Hollywood stars he works with.

But don’t worry, these moves are simple enough for beginners to follow along too. The fun? Get sweaty, free your body, incorporate props and forget the fact it’s a workout. Of course, wear activewear that supports your movement and makes you feel your best.

Who is Ryan Heffington?

You’ll know when you’ve found Ryan Heffington’s Instagram profile by spotting his signature mustache and brightly colored feed.

But before taking to Instagram Live to provide free follow-along dancing to his followers, fans and even celebrities, Heffington was known for his choreography. His choreography productions are seen in Sia’s “Chandelier” music video, the Netflix series “The OA,” the big screen’s “Baby Driver” film and so much more.

His talents have won him numerous awards and accolades with Grammy nominations and beyond, but to truly experience his magic, let him help you momentarily escape your current struggles with spicy dance moves, uplifting energy and positive affirmations that liberate the body, mind and soul.

During Sweat Fest, Heffington transforms the confines of our apartments, homes and bedrooms into dance floors. Chores like making the bed suddenly become dance moves with a hop to the side and a swing of the arms, imitating the act of fluffing a bedsheet. He shouts, “grab a microphone” and his 6,000 viewers parade around their homes singing into a TV remote or broomstick. He turns the mundane to miraculous with every grapevine and hair flip.

Why Does Sense Love Sweat Fest?

Sense promotes the idea of Body Life where one uses their senses for more than just work, but to enjoy and live a truly fulfilling life. Practicing Body Life isn’t about ignoring responsibilities and hardships. It’s about being brave enough to allow yourself to prioritize some of your time to being human and moving as such without guilt.

Like Sense, Heffington’s Sweat Fest sessions are not oblivious to the hardships and negative emotions the world faces today. In between energetic pop songs, he intertwines songs like Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car,” where the body and mind are invited to express, confront and free negative thoughts and worries through slow-tempo movements.

Ready to Dance? We’ll See You There!

Sweat Fest is typically live-streamed two to three times during the week and on Saturdays and Sundays. Don’t miss Ryan Heffington’s next Sweat Fest session on his Instagram Live and check his profile for the schedule!
